Strone Macpherson
Strone Macpherson succeeded Iain Samuel Robertson as Chairman in December 2007. After gaining an MBA from INSEAD, Mr Macpherson joined Flemings in 1975. He became a Director in 1979 and worked in London and New York till 1989 when he joined the Board of Misys plc. He became Executive Deputy Chairman in 1991 and stepped down from this role earlier this summer. He remains Chairman of the Misys Charitable Foundation, is Chairman of the Fleming Smaller Companies Trust plc, a non-executive Director of AXA UK plc and on the Investment Committee and General Council of the King's Fund.

Directors
John May
Mr. John May joined the Board in 2003. He is currently Executive Director with Caledonia Investments. He has over 25 years experience in advising, managing and investing in listed and unlisted companies, including more than 20 years with the Hambros Group, where from 1988 to 1994 he was joint MD of Hambros Countrywide plc (now renamed Countrywide Assured plc) and subsequently with his own private equity investment business.

Peter Allen
Mr Allen has spent the last eight years as Finance Director of Royal Bank of Scotland's Corporate Banking and Financial Markets business, retiring earlier this year. He is a Director of Lombard and a Director and Chairman of the Audit Committee of Greenwich Capital. His earlier career included positions at Peat Marwick, National Bank of Detroit, First National Bank of Dallas and Westpac.

Rosamund Blomfield-Smith
Mrs Blomfield-Smith is currently a Director with Arbuthnot Latham focusing on corporate finance activities. She was previously an Executive Director of N M Rothschild and Sons and a Non-Executive Director of the National Rivers Authority. Her earlier banking career included positions at Morgan Grenfell, Schroders and ING Barings.

Steven Bates
Joined the Board in June 2006. Director of Zephyr Management, an investment management business specialising in emerging markets. Non-executive Director of Baring Emerging Europe plc and Renaissance US Growth Investment Trust plc. Previously an Executive Director of JPMorgan Asset Management responsible for emerging markets investments.
